The irony, the irony.... the rust, the rust

THE ELECTRONIC Frontier Foundation (EFF), in cooperation with others, is compiling an interesting record of demands made under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and the various cease and desist notices Web sites are receiving.
One of the more interesting cease and desist notices at the Chilling Effects web site is a letter from Sharman Networks' lawyers, Stubbs Alterton and Markiles, which says search results at Google show "unauthorized copies" of the KMD (Kazaa Media Desktop). The lawyers ask Google to immediately remove or disable all access to the infringing material.
The requests, nay demands, are made under Sections 512(c)(3) and 512(d)(3), of the DMCA, say Sharman's pleaders.
Is the irony of this lost on Sharman, which owns Kazaa? We think we should be told.
