Is there anyway to get a faster connection for bearshare. Any way to change the port numberor something to get better results or faster results?

I don't have that answer either. I tryed all of the gnutella clients and each one infested my computer with ad ware. So I kinda shuned a finger at them (won' tell you wich one) and reformated my computer. Then I found Ares....

Gnutella unfortunatley does not give the greatest results or the fastest speeds. If you're stuck with using Gnutella Technology I wouldn't use Bearshare, but rather Limewire or Shareaza. I know Shareaza isn't the greatest G1 client, but it definitly can be considered better because it gives access to the other networks.

Actually, there is a new alternative to Limewire, Bearshare, etc for Gnutella. "ThinDivide" is a new Gnutella client that shows promise. I downloaded it just to try it out, and I was fairly impressed. I tried 3 or 4 fairly popular files, and I got several results, and great speeds. It is like Limewire without all the crap. Check it out Here (http://www.unitethecows.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1395). ;)
