Ok, first thing you have to learn to be a Grandpa... You DON'T listen to anything that is COOL to the kids... IF you did, there'd be no reason to yell at them to turn that crappy stuff down... "Back in my day...

Visiting Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said here on Thursday in case of a military attack against Iran, no country in the world would have access to crude oil.
Chavez made the remark at a press conference, adding, "as Iran's President Ahmadinejad has reiterated, if Tehran would come under attack, oil would get scarce for everyone."
He also said that the American President George W. Bush should be put to trial at the International Court of Justice for having launched genocide in Iraq.
The Venezuelan president added, "for all the horror it has created around the globe in the course of the past century, the United States' war machine should be dismantled, since under the current conditions it is a threat against the entire mankind, particularly against our children."

So yeah, I need to make more money. This is a pretty well paying job for what it is, but I certainly could use a better paying job. Of course, something tells me that it would be a lot more work on my part to do such things. I need to find the quick way to make money without a lot of effort.
Either that, or I need to find a way to make money with my art. Not sure how I'm going to do that, but anything would be a help. Especially if I'm thinking of dropping a grand on a new computer system.

oh..
I found a way..
Actually, I don't remember the thread that I started a while back, but I had just purchased a 300 gig hard drive and for some reason, it just wouldn't show up. Took me forever to find out that in Service Pack 2, there was an update that allowed HDs over 300 gig. That scared the hell out of me because I thought I had bought a bad drive.

Well, I mean, I use it there too, but it takes me much longer since I'm using a 900 mHz machine, with low ram, and a bad video card. I try to stay away from working on the bigger projects, anything over 30 to 45 minutes.
And I do have a project still waiting to be completed. Hard to work on it because of its size.

But yeah, that's what I use that software for. Like I said, a Mac would have been the better way to go there, but I wouldn't use it for anything else, and I just can't justify doing that. And, who knows how many filsm I'm going to be able to make in the future. I wouldn't want to buy something that I would only use for film making, and then come to find out that I'm not making that many films.

Do you do any 3D modeling or creating?
I wish! I really wanted to have some sort of 3D logo for my films, something to be the symbol of my company, but I've never had the time to learn it, and quite frankly, I'm not very good with that type of stuff. I wish I were, but I've just never been able to grasp some of the stuff that people do. At some point, I'm probably going to have to pay someone to make me a neat image and logo for my films, and group.

If that is the case, I will be sure to send you the information as to what I got, so you can all marvel in my computing power. mathmission
05-17-2006, 08:57 AM
And on his travels, he met a man named Stan
mathmission
05-17-2006, 08:57 AM
Stan was a man with a dark brown tan.
mathmission
05-17-2006, 08:58 AM
And he, good sir, was the man with a plan.
mathmission
05-17-2006, 08:59 AM
So the man and Stan, along with the plan, first sought out a fan.
mathmission
05-17-2006, 08:59 AM
The fan, the man, the plan, and Stan, all went to the can
mathmission
05-17-2006, 09:00 AM
And just before Stan could exicute the brilliant plan, The man got a call from his nan!
mathmission
05-17-2006, 09:00 AM
Time to come home, said the nan.

I remember when I first got hooked on that show. Just got the entire season, and watched it straight. Now that's dedication

But hey, whatever works, right. Just a bunch of random things in here, no big deal. Maybe I will catch up to Carrie some time soon. Not sure who's still ahead of me in terms of posting, but I'm making my way up there!

So there are a lot of strange people that work with me. They sort of creep around the building, doing random things. I don't think that they are ever really trying to get anything done, they just walk around with something in their hand so the rest of us think they are doing something. There's this one lady that is always walking around in the halls, with a piece of paper in her hands, but it's always the same one, and she is never going to a specific place. I think that she just walks around so that she has something to do, and that the paper is like her office hall pass or something. That's what I need. An all time office hall pass so I can just wander around for hourse. Of course, I'm sure that I would get tired of that some time, and want to hang myself from the seconds story, but either way, it might be better than sitting on 'the front line' desk and doing nothing at all. I mean, holy cow, if I didn't have UTC to entertain me at the moment, I would be losing my mind!

What I need is some quotes or something, maybe some trivia to post here, just to get things going again. This early morning stuff is just killing me. I rode my bike to work, trying to lose some weight, and to get some excersize, and for god sake, save some money on gas!
mathmission
05-17-2006, 09:15 AM
My bike has 12 speeds
mathmission
05-17-2006, 09:15 AM
that might be a lie. It might have 24. I can't seem to remember. I've had the bike for so long, I just don't think about it

So, I'm pleased with my laptop. It seems to be working well. The only thing that I think I don't like aboutt it, is that it only has one USB port, and I use that for a mouse. And I think that the onboard mouse thing is all messed up so I have to use it for the mouse. That's one thing that bothers me about it. But everything else seems to work just fine.

What I need now, is some Rep points. I wanna see what happens when I hit 2500. I'm just a little under that, 100 or so, just interested what happens.
mathmission
05-17-2006, 09:20 AM
And talk about some people that need rep points. Holy cow, Tiremonkey and Thumper were tearing up this thread the past few days here! Amazing guys. You've got this thing going again, and that's what we needed. Now if we can only get some more of the users to post everywhere else in the thread, that would be awesome. I can't remember the user's name, but the user that's always posting in the word association thread, that poster is awesome. And Riscy! Awesome. And BakeDon, awesome. Carrie, goes without saying. Pegasus, again, goes without saying. PB! Where are you, my friend, and Tadd! And BB? Where have my lost cows gone? What pasture are you roaming now!?

My fingers are starting to hurt from all this tapping on the keyboard. But I guess that's my fault. I type in a very strange way. When I use my left hand, I use all my fingers, but when I use my right hand, I only use my pointer. It's very strange, and I make a lot of mistakes that I have to go back and fix.
The Control + Backspace is my favorite shortcut.

I hope that at least someone goes through this. I mean, I feel bad for all the little piddly crap that I've written here, that has no purpose, but I'd like to think that every now and then, there's something here that has some sort of interesting fact seeded within.

Yeah, I had to take that one over the intel one because of heat problems, and power consumption. Noise as well.
