I might need to get breakfast here pretty soon. Course, we don't have anything here but a bag of rice.

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:19 AM
So, I was playing Mario Kart yesterday, and beat Cullen's high school. That was exciting. Yeah, you can tell that I'm running out of things to say already, that's pretty bad.

One of my favorite lines from a song is:

"Just because I cannot see it
Doesn't mean I can't believe it."

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:21 AM
Well, here's 15 in a row!

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:22 AM
So, where is everyone!?

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:23 AM
Now Im listening to Falco's "Rock Me Amadeus"

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:23 AM
I don't know German, so its a bit hard for me to understand. I know some French, so that somewhat works.

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:25 AM
So I got up for work today, hoping that there was going to be something, and of course, there was nothing available. So, my away message last night was accurate.

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:29 AM
Yeah, its much harder to write a lot when I do a big run the night before. It's hard to come up with crap that's happening here to write about. It's cloudy out right now, and kinda cold. I haven't been outside as of yet, but I can tell. I wanted to go to the Bangkok gardens for lunch, but I don't really have the money for something like that, and Cullen won't go, so there's no real reason to go. I don't want to go by myself, and as I said, $$$$

Well, at least you have everything turned in and don't have to do any more work for some time!

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:32 AM
Im glad I don't have to do the finals anymore. I think its just because of the stress that it caused. I actually liked taking them.

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:33 AM
Never really understood my enjoyment of the finals. I just liked that time of year, and I loved watching people walk into a final, and cram as much as they could right before the test.

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:34 AM
Let me see if I can find my good final topic....

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:35 AM
Ok, here it is. It was in an Oral Traditions course:

Finals: First, give a brief, generalized account of how religious studies scholars have understood the Bible's relationship to oral tradition. Mention as much as you can from our class and from the Hearon article. Next, pick two of our three approaches (Performance Theory, Ethnopoetics, and Immanent Art) and show how you would use them to better understand the Odyssey. Note: be sure to give each of your two chosen approaches equal time and space. Lastly, the oral tradition of bersolaritza is deeply embedded in Basque cultural identity. Basing your remarks on the two handouts and class discussion, illustrate how this is true.

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:38 AM
Carrie you have to post more for it to be called a spree!

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:41 AM
10 posts = rant
20 posts = speech
30 posts = spree
40 posts = craze
50 posts = trump
75 posts = court
100 posts = ace
250 posts = blitz
500 posts = alamo
1000 posts = shoot the moon.

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:42 AM
So, I've just gotten a spree for the day

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:42 AM
Im going for the the trump

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:43 AM
It would be way too fun to shoot the moon. Course, it would take 8.3 hours of straight posting to do that.

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:44 AM
I think Carrie disappeared.

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:47 AM
I might have to watch a movie here or something

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:48 AM
Actually, I need to take a shower at some point. I have a feeling that Jessica is going to call me and ask me out to lunch, and I don't have cash, so the goal is to miss the call or something. Man, I feel bad saying that.

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:48 AM

mathmission

nine more and I have the trump! You know what I want to watch again? The Film "Enron, The Smartest Guys in the Room." Good film.

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:52 AM
Or, "Postmen in the Mountains" that was a really good one, about a father and son. The father is retiring his postal route, and takes his son on the last trip around to teach him how to deliver the mail. Its a very good story of father/son stuff.

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:53 AM
Course, its not out on DVD. It was going to come out, then for some reason, it never did.

mathmission
12-14-2005, 11:54 AM
I just hope it comes out some time, its a really good film. Another good film is called "The Fog of War." Great documentary with Robert Macnimara (sp)

Oh, things here have been fine, just trying to get work as often as I can, and waiting for the holidays to start. I think Im headed back to KC for the holidays, see my family and some friends. Outside of that, nothing really new. The paintings were a nice distraction, and writing's been going slow. Outside of that, nothing really. Seems that most of the people I know are working on finals and whatnot, Im just sort of sitting around.

Strange, same with me. She's a little younger than I'd really like. I mean, she's a freshman in college, and I just finished, but there are so many things we have in common its just nuts, and she actually wants to hang out with me, so that's pretty cool as well.

Cassavus
12-14-2005, 12:37 PM
She's from Serbia by the way. Anyway, her dad wants her to stay in the US and go to college. So, after she's done with the exchange thing, it looks as though she will remain in the States! On top of that, I'm pretty sure she likes me. She always get very shy when I'm around and is always giving me looks.

Cassavus
12-14-2005, 12:38 PM
And to make things a little bit easier for me, her and my sister are pretty good friends. so i have the chance to see her a lot more than i would normally

Rock on dude. I have a friend who is dating a Romainian girl right now. He's actually flying over to Romania this Christmas break to meet her parents. Not a bad deal man, glad to hear that things are going well. I would say that just hang around her, see if you can't get something started. Glad to hear it!

I have several friends that are good friends of Kat's brother, so that's pretty cool. But she actually joined Film Club, that's how I met her, and we've just been talking online a lot, and we went to a coffee shop, me her and her room mate, to just hang out and talk and whatnot, it was good times!

MM, so what else has been going on in your life?
Well, I sort of decided that the novel I was working on needed a break, so I put it down, and read a few books on the side. I think over this break, I am going to write the second episode to my mini-series. I've been doing some painting as well.

I traveled to Chicago, Washington D.C. College Park, and Charlottesville. Good string of trips. Costly though.

Sometimes the best thing you can do it just leave something for awhile. Then come back to it. I've done that a lot!

Do you have anymore trips planned in the near future?

Well, I got my passport, and was thinking about going to France, but the people that I was going to go with sort of backed out, so I had to cancel the trip. Probably for the best, as I'm running rather low on money, but I do plan on going some time.

Outside of that, no trips planned as of yet.

Cassavus
12-14-2005, 12:56 PM
Yea, one of these days I'm going to head over that way. I want to go to Ireland, Scottand, Germany and Romania (and if I hook up with this girl, I will of course be going to Serbia at one time or another).

mathmission

Cassavus
12-14-2005, 01:01 PM
In other news, I'm trying to get started with college (asap). MM, have you ever taken any online classes?

mathmission
12-14-2005, 01:02 PM
I've not, sorry. I've known people that have, and are planning on it, but I myself have never taken an online course. I've had courses that had online work, with WebCT and stuff like that, but I've never taken an entire course.

Cassavus
12-14-2005, 01:03 PM
did the people that you know, like the online courses?

Cassavus
12-14-2005, 01:04 PM
my biggest fear is not learning the same way i would in a classroom.

mathmission
12-14-2005, 01:07 PM
Well, I think that it is true, you're not going to learn the same was as in a classroom, there isn't going to be the hands on feel of it, and my friends say that its somewhat hard to get help if you need it. I'm not sure what to suggest, I mean they all enjoyed what they were studying, but all said that it wasn't like a normal class at all.

Cassavus
12-14-2005, 01:08 PM
yea...and i really would rather be in a classroom. i learn best hands on

Cassavus
12-14-2005, 01:10 PM
but my degree will involve computers, since i will be going for a computer science degree

Cassavus
12-14-2005, 01:11 PM
i just like being able to see my professor face to face.

mathmission
12-14-2005, 01:11 PM
Yeah same here, I don't think that I would like an online course very well. What are you working towards? AA, BA, MA?

Cassavus
12-14-2005, 01:13 PM
anyway, i'm going to go to the community college and get my associates and then go to a different college

Cassavus
12-14-2005, 01:14 PM
well, one day I want my doctorate. but right now i'm taking it one step at a time. so just my associates degree for now

Cassavus
12-14-2005, 01:18 PM
i'm not sure if you'll know the answer to this, but i'll ask anyway. if i were to get my computer science degree, would that allow me to do just about anything having to do with computers? such as web design, network admin, information security, etc.

I think so, I mean now a-days a lot of places are looking for BS in computer science, but I bet that you could run your business or work for someone with an AA, it just might be better to have a BA

Cassavus
12-14-2005, 01:20 PM
i want something very diverse, because i want to do a lot of things having to do with computers and technology.

Cassavus
12-14-2005, 01:21 PM
well right after i get my associates, i'm going to get my BA. so i won't go out and get a job right away with my associates. i'm refering to once i get my BA, MA or Doctorates.

So, I got some hard boiled eggs at lunch, and get this the package has a warning that it contains eggs.

Eventhough the printing on the lable (about 28pt) says Hard-Boiled Eggs.

DUUUHHHH!!!!
See, who writes something like that! That's just crazy. Speaking of hard-boiled eggs, I might have an egg salad sandwich for lunch...

I'll be honest, I feel very good for him, but I can't help but feel bad for myself when something like this happens. I know that he's gonna go pretty damned far in his life, and he's not going to have to worry about money, and he's gonna be a doctor, and all the good things that that brings. Jealous, perhaps. He worked his ass off to get where he is now, and he'll have to do a lot more of that to finish med school. But.. I don't know where I'm going with this, I'll just quit now.

ido,
Because you are concious of the fact that speaking with shrink PHD (Piled Higher and deeper) may disturb them you are fairly sane. You know that some of the things you will say are disturbing and you cant picture someone who would not be affected by the things. Your picture may make some people think it is the Mary Jane that has you disturbed. Whats really going on ? I think that everyone in the Moooing heard will understand.
Don't you use Bit Torrent, check out how

We need a lot more to happen in here! Come one, come all! Carrie, we need your help, and where did BB go? Haven't seen her around much as of late, miss her! And Tex, where'd he run off to?

Still kicking just been crazy busy. I now work 2 jobs and go to school.

My day consists of getting up at 10 pm to get ready for work then working from 11pm to 7am. Getting dinner and then getting a nap in. I then get up got to my 2nd job for 4 hours then come home and try to get as much school work done before I fall asleep slamming my head into the keynoard. I then crawl my tired ass to bed by 7pm then start it all again.

BlondeBandit

Ok I have now caught up on the last few weeks of posts.

BlondeBandit
12-16-2005, 10:00 PM
Ok to answer your question Cass about online classes. I am attending the University of Phoenix online right now and I have to tell you that they are harder then going to a regular classroom. There is less interaction when it comes to taking online courses.

BlondeBandit
12-16-2005, 10:01 PM
They usually use Outlook Express and you subsrcribe to the news groups and then go and post you assignments on the days that they are do. You also have to answer discussion questions and so forth that way you are participating in class.

BlondeBandit
12-16-2005, 10:02 PM
In the beginning of each 9 week block of classes you get a syllabus for each class telling you what is due and when and then you just kind of do all of them on your own pretty much at your own pace.

BlondeBandit
12-16-2005, 10:03 PM
I would rather do schooling this way then to sit in a classroom of dumb and obnoxious college students but hey I am old so I may feel differently then you do.

BlondeBandit
12-16-2005, 10:04 PM
I say maybe try a little bit of both schools and see what you like the best. Most credits are transferable so you could try a few online courses first and see what you think and then go from there.

BlondeBandit
12-16-2005, 10:04 PM
Wow I am just rambling here.

BlondeBandit
12-16-2005, 10:05 PM
