Ok,i've got this new hd installed, needed to partion and format it,used my windows disc to do that, worked before.
Only this time i clicked the wrong button,25 min. later i had a second version of winxp on my pc,no problem i thought, just re-format disc -I- and it's gone,ok,done so, and it's no longer there.
The problem i have now,is with starting/booting up,i've got a choise of 2 windows xp home systems, but there's only one left on the hd.
My guess is that somewhere on my -C- disc, where the 'original' windows is installed, there's a folder that still contains some values from the second one, couldn't find it though.

So,if anyone can help me out here,it's a minor prob, just click and it boots, but i'm lazy, don't want that extra click ;)

btw, first time in my life i opened a forum with a first thread :D

Hey Wobbel :)
I'm not positive on this as I don't have an XP system here right now, but look in "My Computer" under properties (right click the icon to get there) and check in the Advanced Tab under Startup and Recovery. You may see an option to uncheck the OS display list for xx seconds feature. That may do it :)

LOL Wobbel, This sure does sound like a PCTechtalk question to me...:D :D

(That First post to a New Forum is pretty compelling..Hehe)

Simple solution to your problem, you need to delete a setting in your startup options.

First-- boot your machine and WRITE DOWN the 2 options you are given for which windows you want to use. This is important, because you do not want to delete the wong one.

Now proceed as follows:

START -> Control Panel -> SYSTEM (your system Control panel)

under the ADVANCED tab, then look under startup and recovery click on SETTINGS.

a new panel will pop up.

now choose EDIT which will open up your startup options using notepad.
Simply edit out the old startup option (just delete the appropriate line)
Click SAVE (in notepad) then CLOSE (notepad)

now close everything up, the next time you boot you will not see that "boot choice" screen.
