I bought 2--50 packs of these disks because they were on sale recently. I had to send in the wrappers and receipt for a rebate I naturally never received.
But, that is not my problem with these. My problem is that not only can I not tell the top from the bottom of this disk (or front to back, whatever). I can't get any of them to work, and since I no longer have the recipts or the wrappers, I cannot return them. Philips has never replied to me regarding these unusable disks. And, my writer is not broken, it works on other disks.
I have good rapor with Office Depot, I have more drawers in my dresser being used for various computer parts than clothing. But, I don't think they want these things either.
perhaps Philips has come out with a better disk since then, another model perhaps, But these shiny on both sides things don't work.

Now,I am off my soap box.

I also had an experience with double sided shiny disk. They burned ok but at a very low speed (4x I believe and with 16x advertised). It was a cheap brand so I didn't expect much, but now I have a 100 pack of shiny coasters to pass out to guest!

Maybe we should move this to copnspiracy theories. LOL
I just got 100 DVD's and they are also shiny on both sides. Legacy. Not sure what they do, but I hope something as I bought 100 of them!!

Feenie had some of those...he took them off the spool and immediately wrote what was going to be burned on it.

Thats how we knew what side was up!

hmm... Maybe the place you bought them from can look it up, and a good place to buy cheap and work awesome is PCClub, i bought 50 blank 8x DVD's for thirty dollars! and a way to tell which side is which, is the way they came, the side thats on top, leave it that way :)
