Kerry calls president to concede after hard-fought election.
NBC and the Associated Press reported that Sen. John Kerry called the president to concede the election.
Earlier, Kerry was reported to be weighing options, with running mate Sen. John Edwards counseling Kerry to fight on until all of Ohio's votes were counted — which might not happen for almost two weeks.
Yet, it wasn't clear whether the Kerry campaign was willing to hold out for weeks. On Wednesday morning, his top advisers met to discuss whether to fight on or concede. The aides planned at least one other session before taking their recommendation to the senator, according to several officials involved in the deliberations.
The Kerry campaign is "still examining" the results, spokesman David Wade said.

Gays should not be allowed to get married but they should have some sort of law that protects them or recognizes them as partners.Originally posted by ROCKAMANIAC

As far as the war... we will see what happens now that he is re-elected and he does not have to worry about what the publics reactions are going to be to his decisions.

As far as gays are concerned, I'm unwilling to so much as recognize a 'civil union'. Our laws are based on the bible, and the bible also condemns homosexuality, therefore, we should also make that just as unacceptable as robbing a bank.
In some parts of the country, sodomy is considered a criminal act.

Actually all 11 states banned gay marriage. The voters in those states have spoken.Originally posted by ROCKAMANIAC

Personally i think that civil unions are inevitable and considering its the same rights as married people get i think the whole arguement is over labels and i dont see why some are making such a big deal to get it called as marriage other than to try to force others to accept their lifestyle which is not mine or the rest of socieity's business.
They aren't allowed to 'mess around' with each other in prison. Ask any correctional officer and they will tell you the same thing.
Why should it be allowed outside of prison if it's not even allowed inside prison?
I agree with you but it's better than them getting married!Originally posted by Shades Coolray

My question is... why the hell should you care if their partnered? And by you I mean anyone. I really think they should recognize them as partners, at least that would be a start.
As for Bush...he should not have had to worry about his next move just because of the election{let's let MORE people die because I want another term} sounds kinda silly huh?
This was a tight ass race and maybe Bush can pull his head out of his ass this time and bring this place back together. I doubt it but it's a nice thought![]()
I don't understand how gay marriage hurts anyone? You want to say it hurts the institution of marriage but it seems to be doing that fine anyway (50% divorce rate). Gay marriage doesn't physically hurt anyone. I feel that if something doesn't physically hurt another person there shouldn't be a problem with it.

Ohwell... Atleast the next four years will be fun... Kerry would just be boring.
May All Beings Awaken To Their True Nature
What I find seriously sad in all this, is Bush's biggest thing going for him is what happened on 911... yet all the states that got hit on 911 really hard (NY, NJ, DC, PA) all did NOT vote in his favor, not even close!
So what does that tell you? It tells you that those who actually had to morn what happened on 911 still DO NOT feel safer with Bush in office!!
But yet there are people who live in the middle of nowhere, where no one in their right mind would care to attack feel much safer with him in office... so that's what they say...
What a vastly oversimplified, and wrong, way of looking at it ROCKAMANIAC. People voting on the issue of Terrorism in those places voted overwhelmingly for Bush. But only about 25% of people in three of those areas (PA, NY, NJ) voted on Terrorism (Can't find good enough exit polls for DC).
PA came out 51% for Kerry to 49% for Bush.
NJ came out 53% for Kerry to 46% for Bush. Neither one is "Not even close".
NY came out 58% Kerry 40% Bush, but take a look at a county-by-county map. Once you head outside New York City, Kerry's domination disintigrates, where he only had a clear majority in two counties (Tompkins and Albany).
I spent last night 'till 5 AM pouring over as much raw data as I could find. Trust me, when it comes to Terrorism, Bush slaughtered Kerry in the voting booth.
Out of the frying pan, into the fire!
It's because Bush has a southern charm sometimes...everyone thinks he's a good down to Earth guy because he is from Texas. Then there are others that think he's a badass because of where he's from with makes them think that he'll protect us.
I just want those who will be bitching about anything within the next 4-5 years to reflect back on yesterday, because noone but Bush can be blamed from here on out.
