    global pause/resume

Good to see that that feature was implement! however, it does create a new problem... if there are other torrents queued up, when you pause all tasks, it just pauses those tasks that are already running, which causes the queued torrents to start downloading, which ultimately defeats the purpose of the global pause, in my opinion... if you could fix it so that when you pause all tasks, anything thats queued doesn't start, then that would be great... in fact, I'd like it if new tasks only start if you stop previous tasks, not just pausing them, so that paused tasks count towards the total running tasks, that would be great

FYI, providing more information than this makes bug reports actually useful.

    edit: changed the quote at the top of the post. I can't read; I thought Farlow were talking about the version not working. Oh, I can't wait until finals week is over -.-;

edit2: removed '(I saw that you figured the problem out)' because he hadn't.

slow download with lots of 0 kb/sec connections

    Hi Commander Keen,

Here is a little information about my setup to help you diagnois my problem.

I use a cable modem with 3mbit down and 512 kb/up. I set my max upload to about 40-50kb. I am sitting behind a hardware firewall (pivio) but port 6881-6889 are forward to my computer.

I am currently downloading a big torrent about 55 gigs in size. There are 160+ users and 3-4 seeders online. Another torrent client reports they are 9 complete copies from all the people connected. The bitcomet client seem to open connection to max of 10 peers but most of my peers show a download speed of 0 kb/sec or 1 kb/sec. The max I have seen is 3 kb/sec for a single user but never above that. My total download speed using bitcomet has never exceeded 20 kb/secs. But my upload speed always stuck around the max I set (40 or 50 kb/secs). I have some unreal ratio like 9:1 up/down. I have tried to set lower upload limit but that hasn't really helped either. I am not sure what is causing this problem. I tried to play with most of the options but it doesn't seem to effect my download speed. I also tried to close down bitcomet and restart but that hasn't helped either.

    Thank you for your help

My compliments this has to be the best and most stable version
    I've tried yet!

Finally!! seeding torrents to other peers while downloading
other torrents simultaneously is working!!!!! I suppose that is your
    Core improvements above...

Before it was impossible to share your downloaded files now we can share like in other Bittorrent programs (and I hope all want to share otherwise Bittorrent dies)

One thing I wonder about is when the program crashed one time and
when restarting the torrents BC didn't seem to do any hashchecking
    at all.
It went from Normal to Downloading straight away, is that right?

I remember in 0.49 when BC asked for a manual hashcheck when the
    program wasn't ended correctly.
So I wonder if we can trust that the file is intact or if we should do
a manual hashcheck just in case to be safe?

I would recommend doing a manual hash check when BC crashes, then.

Is BC configured to listen on a port in that forwarded range (i.e 6881-6889)?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean with this last sentence. Are you saying that BC starts transfers with many people, but only 10 of them are transferring at a speed >1 KB/s?

Thanks, I thought so too, somehow I feel better after doing that manual hashcheck...

    1. Yes. I am using one of the ports I have forwarded.

    2. BC typically connects to 50+ users out of the 160+ online. Of those connected, it is downloading from 10-15 peers at a time. However, of the 10-15 downloads, 5-10 would show downloading 0kb/sec the other 5 would show downloading 1-2kb/sec. My overall speed never get over 20 kb/sec.

Somehow the "allocate before download" feature is still not working.

    Does anyone has this problem?

I would very much appreciate it if this can be fixed so that I can check how much hard disk space I have left after I start a torrent so that I don't go overboard and download beyond my hard disk space.

It does allocation, but takes almost no time. you may and went to the target directory, the files will be fully allocated.

the click/unclick difference is when stop downloading, wheather leave the whole file or shink it.

That's the way how bitcomet decrease disk fragment to almost zero.

If anything goes wrong, do let me know.

Ah, my apologies; I fixed my post to correct that. I'll take a look at your post later to see if there's something I can suggest.

But when I go and check at the directory, it says 0 bytes.

Off topic: BTW, someone should change the link to this forum at bitcomet.com. It's still the old link.
