sorry windy, it bring you lots of troubles. And the crash report begins from 0517, and I received lots of them for 0517. it is surely the most unstable version. the 0518, 0519.. 0521 all bugfix version without any new functions. and also less and less crash report. I hope it is not because people is getting used to crash.
the most common bug I realized from the crash reports is GUI related, about uncorrectly used handles, windows oh. my god. anyway, hope to fix them all in 0521.

For the first time since the 0,4... something version, i have had encouraged a problem with BitComet. When i'm downloading a torrent and try to start another one this popup-window occurs with the notice that BitComet cannot listen to port xxxxx. and the effect is that i can only download one torrent at the time. The version in wich this occurred is the latest betaversion 0521

jko, the error I got is neither any one of the images you posted. The two images are pop ups of Windows, if I'm not mistaken.
The one I got is by BC itself. Got text area where you may write down what you are doing when BC crashed.
Like what I said in my previous post,
I think I better stick to 0517 before I know more of exactly what happened.
I'm currently using 0517, haven't crashed on me yet for nearly two days (that is, after I did my clean install).
However, got this something unusual (and a bit confusing) situation. Not very sure related to BC or not.
During the day time when I let my PC on and BC running, when I get back home, usually after 10 to 11 hrs later, my connection to the Internet has died and BC just kept trying to connect.
However when I let BC runs during the night, it's still downloading normally when I wake up the next morning and check.
Like I said, not sure related to BC itself or not. This only started on me since 0517. It behaved like this twice. Once during the day time and once during the night. Then I got 0519 (or is it 0518, anyway, it's the next beta after 0517) and you know the whole story through my previous posts.
Anyway, after my 0517 second clean install, the situation comes back, I think. Yesterday when I checked the torrents were trying to connect again. However from the status, I figured out that BC managed to download something. However last night it's downloading normally again. Hmm... we'll see the situation today.
I suspect it's due to the LAN traffic in my place or I got too many torrents queueing. One of my housemates may use the net during day time but at night all of us will be using the net too, so this is quite unlikely. Both times I got a few torrents queueing up where normally when I'm in the house, I do not have queueing torrents.
rnysmile, which files should I send to you? Maybe I'll send them all when I go back home.

And still in 0521 BitComet reports wrong data to the tracker. Within 3 minutes of seeding a file, the tracker stats show that I had 2.63 KB download. But that can't be, because I am seeding. Also when a file I download is 20 MB I download 21MB or something according to the tracker what is wrong. The normal 0.52 version did not have this bug. Please do fix this in future versions.
The data that is caused by communicating with the clients (and/or tracker?) should not be calculated to the data that really is uploaded/downloaded.

Oh, then this is a long time bug. All my downloaded amount recorded for all my torrents are more than the actual file size.

Windy I think there is something you don't understand about
application error. The error I got is from BC itself too.
The images are from one and the same error.
The first image above is the first popup you get when an application crashes the "second" when you click:
To see what data this error report contains, click here.
You mean that you don't get any popup window telling you that BC
crashed and the cause of it? I know it can happen but
you can take a look in Event viewer (CP---> Administrative tools) and
maby see more information about crashes.
In Event Viewer I have this information:
Code:
0000: 41 70 70 6c 69 63 61 74 Applicat
0008: 69 6f 6e 20 46 61 69 6c ion Fail

0050: 30 31 63 39 36 0d 0a 01c96..
I've read on this forum that others got this crash in BC and
I wondered if you got that one too Windy
Could you check out if you got any info in Event viewer
when BC crashes?

jko, thanks for your explanations.
I tried checking my Event Viewer but I can't seem to find where to check the crashes info.
Anyway I suddenly find out that I got tons of errors log, but not related to BC, I think. But I don't understand what the logs recorded.
Could you please give clearer directions?
Under Event Viewer there are Application, Security and System.
Where should I go? What should I look for?
Thanks.
I don't get what you tell to say here:
The error I got is from BC itself too.
The images are from one and the same error.
The first image above is the first popup you get when an application crashes the "second" when you click:

You mean you got a crash, you receive the two pop-ups you posted together, one after the other?
For the 0519 crash I got that gave me a heart attack, BC suddenly shut down (no more icon on the task bar) and I only got one pop up telling me BC caused some kind of error (can't really remember any more the exact words). I know this is not from Windows coz when I try to send the error log, the address in the Outlook says mailto:bitcomet@yahoo.com. However I didn't send them since I didn't have an account in Outlook (which reminds me to send the error to rnysmile.
)
I don't remember seeing the second image you posted (the one about Error Signature...). Only got the first pop up (the one with the BC icon) when BC crashed suddenly. But this happened way back then. It's been so long ago.

You only need to look at the information in Application, if you
doubleclick the Error in that window you get the Event Properies
there you can see all the info about the crash

Yes that's correct after clicking where it says:
"To see what data this error report contains, click here "
you get the other infobox immidiately, I just put them together
to make it easier to view.
and I only got one pop up telling me BC caused some kind of error (can't really remember any more the exact words
Here is where you should have clicked "click here" to know if you got the same error like I did
Hope this helps and as I said you can go back in time and check
Event Viewer to see what really caused the errors.

Thanks jko.
Now I think I know why I don't remember seeing the second pop up you posted. Coz I didn't click on the "To see what data this error report contains, click here".
Anyway after I used the View>> Filter... on Error for Application Error, I found 1 error log for BC:
Faulting application bitcomet.exe, version 0.52.0.0, faulting module bitcomet.exe, version 0.52.0.0, fault address 0x00063276.
And another unidentified log:
Faulting application ikernel.exe, version 6.31.100.1190, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0xffffffff.
I think the second one is the one that caused my TERRIBLE CRASH coz the time was around the time of the crash.
But something puzzled me. Coz before the terrible crash, I tried to start BC a few times and it gave me the error pop up (of BC) a few times too. But I didn't find any log for those crashes.
Hmm... the Event Viewer seems unreliable... unless the OS started to misbehave already (which in turn led to the terrible crash.)
And I didn't find any logs on the crashes I had way back then.
WAIT! Just remembered something, I reformatted my PC last month...
so I only had log starting from 15 April.

Just confirmed that BC remembers the customized column sizes.
But every time a new installation is done (like upgraded to a new version), BC will go back to the default column size.
Please do something about this.
Thanks.

FYI (I saw that you figured the problem out), providing more information than this makes bug reports actually useful.

hello keen, I havent figured out the problem, and I've already posted a topic about my problem, but appears that rnysmile dont want to say something about it...
Ah, my apologies; I fixed my post to correct that. I'll take a look at your post later to see if there's something I can suggest.
I did a search of the post, but didn't find. Did you still remember where is the post?

From searching neooffs' posts, I think he's referring to his posts in this thread:

BC only uses one port for p2p traffic.
I had this problem but then I wasn't able to download any torrent
at all. The problem was that I had configured another application to
use that single port BC was trying to connect through. I think you have
the same problem. Maby you are using another client at the same time?
