Hmm that's bizarre. Have you read the documentation and faq's on the bitcomet homepage to see if this issue has been addressed?
http://www.bitcomet.com if it's not anywhere to be seen you should email the creator or post in the bugs section and give specific details.

Sorry for jumping the gun and telling you to "read the hundreds of other speed help questions." But we get so many speed questions in this forum that most can be fixed by browsing through the forum. Hardly anyone reads the stickies. Your question however is unique.
You should write up a little article on the problem you had and the solution post it and I'll make sure someone makes it a sticky.

thanks i actually found it in one of the stcky's but here goes anyway.

    my problem:
Computer: ICS computer connecting over ethernet to my modem, ad-hoc wireless to other users in the house.
Issue: i would open bit comet and my speed would read in the 250-300kb/s range for 5-10 minutes then drop suddenly to zero.

Solotion: go to the prefs page and under the general tab set max download rate to 100 kb/s
and instructed those on the other end of my wireless to keep their speed down to 75 kb/s i have run it for approx 1 day (20 Hrs) straight and had no problems with it.i also set my max connections per downloading task to 100 and my max upload connections to 50 and max u/l rate to 35 kb/s

hi, i have the same problem, but it seems that the more i limit my upload limit the higher my download rate is, like if i limit it to 3kb/s my download reaches what it does on a normal download from the internet(200+kb/s) . but also the more i limit my upload and higher my download, the faster my internet stops working, and everything goes to connecting and i cant access web pages or play games online. iv got my upload set up to 7kb/s per task atm which gives me about 100kb/s download and doesnt stop my internet working very fast. thing is tho, when my internet has stoped working and i switch my router off and then on my system freezes everytime. how come this speed thing is happening anyway? does anyone know? and why does limiting ur download slow it down...

this tip is for computers not behind a router
but as i said earlier you need to limit your download speed
what type of internet connection do you have?
have you read all of the stickes? if not start there.
if none of those work, PM me and i will try to help

    Hi all,

this may have been answered in previous posts but I couldn't find anything so I am hoping that some one can help me.

Whenever I commence a download with BC it kills all other types of connections. For example I can't surf through my browser, my connection through LimeWire dies and Messenger disconnects also. After about 15 minutes my cable internet login will bring up that it is disconnected. I am presumming that what is happening is some how the entire connection is being taken over by bitcomet to the extent that not even the heartbeat signal that my ISP is sending out is being heard. As I said Bitcomet will start a download then everything else will no longer connect, about 15 minutes later my login will bring up an error so therefore BitComet will come to a halt. THe moment I completely close Bitcomet (or stop all downloads) I can log back on the internet again and surf etc until I load Bitcomet up again.

    Any suggestions?

I have already limited my download speeds and number of allowed tasks.

did you limit your connections per task and over all upload settings?
how low did you set your up/dl speeds?
does this problem occour when just running bitcommet without downloading?
what internet service router and modem are you using?

It really might be the number of connections per task that is killing your internet connection.... Under Preferences, Advanced, Connection

    Downloading 0, uploading 5, after 5minutes

    Hy!
I'm new to this torrent / BitComet stuff, but i am not a lamer. I have the same problem. I tried to set max dl to 80, and upl to 30 with an 1024ADSL connection, but it is still doing it. If i restart Bitcomet, it starts downloading, but after 5 mins, it's 0/0. And I'm f***ed up.
I'm using BlackIce, but i've allowed BitComet's port, so it's shouldnt be a prob.
I've set the followings as well:
    Max simultaneous download tasks: 3
    maximum connections per task:4
    Any suggestions?
    Thanx, Chr

    Solved

    Hy!
I've got the patch for xpsp2 from http://www.LvlLord.de and set the max half open connections to 50(not really shure what it is), and everything's cool. Working nicely.
    Thanx //Chr
