ok thanks for the help. i changed my max download rate to 5kb/sec. right now i am downloading at 3kb but ive seen up to 4kb which is pretty good. and im uploading at 2kb/sec. my seed/peer [all] is 1/4 [6/29] ive noticed usually my upload speed is higher than my download??? why is that when i have the max for DL set higher than UL? my u/d ratio is 1.1 with a health of 420%. so if ya have any suggestions that would be great. thx.

With a v.92 56k modem and an isp that supports v.92, along with good line conditions, you can achieve close to the maximum of 53kbs down and 48 up.
a kb isn't a KB though k/8+K so if u connect at 56kbs u can get 7KBs at best you'll have 3KB upload and 4 download, but most ppl will never get that good bitcomet should really think about incorparating a way to see if you use dial up or brodband and if u use dial up eather disable or keep uploads no higher then 1KB, mabye one of ther other cliant already do i don't know i've alway liked bitcomet

Yes, I agree, but someone could come and read this topic and find it usefull.

I use dailup for a long time now. With eMule I downloaded few GBs (and spent a lot of money too). My opinion is, that for modem users best p2p is something like eMule. Altough you need to wait on a queue lists, if you download 15+ files you get to download few. Other thing is that I usualy start internet sesion before i go to bed and turn on autodail if line is dropped in connection properties (windows), since my internet session time is max 3h. This means that if you are on a queue list (in eMule) you don't get kicked out, because eMule checks user queues every 20mins. So you're still going to be on queue after reconnection. This is why is important to have lots of files on download, because there is high chance to be on top of queue in more files so the download can start more quickly. Only bad thing is that files that are being downloading are canceled for a time.

For torrents I use BitComet, but not much, simply because I can't fint more than few files I need to download. And when downloading 1-2 files (especialy rare) you get nothing but a waste of time, which is by the way expensive. BitComet can download popular files much faster than eMule on dailup with limiting upload (NetLimiter). I use NetLimiter with eMule too, but thing is you can limit eMule just bit, because your number on a queue list depends not just on time spent waiting but on your upload as well.
