    upload speeds?

i am using BT .59, my connex is 128kbps and my connection as well as windowze is tweaked completely
i see a lot of posts where in it is advised to keep your Upload ratio high to get a good download speed. i always, and i do mean always get a connection of 17kbps per torrent as long as it is well seeded regardless of whatever my upload ratio is. i know sharing is a good thing, and i usually have it at No Limit, but even if i change it to 2, it makes no difference on my download speed.. is this supposed to be normal? cause when i used to download with BitTorrent, the ul/dl ratio made a huge difference.

It depends on how many seeds and peers there are, along with a bunch of other variables. Peers prefer to share with peers that share with them, so generally speaking, you'll get better average download speeds if you upload a decent amount. If you severly limit your upload speed many peers won't share with you.

Hmm, I read this wonderful thread and thanks to all of the pple who gave their precious suggestions/helps. It seems that u pple here keep mentioning abt ur "CONNECTION" speeds rather your "UPLOAD" speed. And as mentioned by deadlee almost A YR AGO (on page two), his finding of 1Byte = 8 bit which the bitcomet uses fail to get everyone notice. Guys if u do some simple calculation, u can actually get the optimum performance. I too getting suxky spd at 1st and happened to read his thread and do the necessary correction. I was d/ling at least 15 files ( all with seeds ) with a total d/l spd of 80 kB/s. Guess what, i change my upload speed with the conversion of theory 1B = 8 bit. My d/l spd shoot to 200kB/s right within a few sec.. So guys, if u take proper note, do some simple conversation and u will get the optimum performance from bitcomet.

P.S: I off my firewall and using a cable with "DOWNLOAD" Speed of 2Mbps and "UPLOAD" speed of 123 kbps. NOTE: 123 kbps the max upload speed my ISP provides. So after conversion, my "UPLOAD" speed in bitcomet is 12kB/s (80% of 123kps converted to kBs). So guys, go do ur calculation now. U shld see the differences!!!! Peace everyone.. happy "torrenting"

The download is proportional to the upload so if u want to download more fast the 1st is put that UPLOAD more than 9kb in fact if u can download 550k u can upload atlest 65k, put the upload at 75% of they capacity ej. if u can upload 60k the upload can be 40.

you should limit your upload to 80% of max capacity in order to obtain the best speeds.

if your down speed is 512 then you will never see speeds of 150-200. if your up speed is 512 then you should limit your upload to 45-50.

give us more info and read that stickie i provided above^^
